From Layoff to 7 Continents: How Allison Coleman Turned Job Loss Into a Global Adventure

Sunnyvale, California Aug 10, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - "Allison Coleman is the founder of Dream Worldtrotter, a wellness travel platform. After a layoff, she set out to visit all seven continents, sharing travel, wellness, and mindset insights along the way."

An unexpected layoff could have marked an ending. For Allison Coleman, it became the start of a journey to visit every continent on Earth.

After being laid off from her job, Coleman chose to pursue a dream she'd carried for years: seeing all seven continents. She has now visited five -- Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond -- with South America and Antarctica remaining on her itinerary. Along the way, she's built Dream Worldtrotter, a wellness travel blog and platform that blends destination guides, personal growth reflections, and her signature niche: cat café adventures, having visited cat cafés in cities around the world.

Coleman credits much of her resilience and adventurous spirit to her grandfather, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient who lived to 106. A world traveler himself, he spent years encouraging her to explore beyond her comfort zone. His example became the foundation of her belief that setbacks--including layoffs, burnout, and unexpected life changes--can become the beginning of extraordinary new journeys.

That philosophy led Coleman to create the From Layoff to 7 Continents Guided Travel Journal, a 100-page printable resource designed to help readers process setbacks, reconnect with their strengths, and set intentional goals for their next chapter.

Coleman continues to document her journey through weekly content, blog storytelling, and speaking engagements, encouraging others facing career transitions to see them as the beginning of something bigger.
