At present, she enjoys working in assisted living at Coville Memory Care in Oak Park, Michigan. She adores being a part of residents' everyday lives, helping them maintain their independence.

A 1977 graduate of the MDTA School of Practical Nursing, Fran did the majority of her clinical training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She has extensive nursing home experience as a charge nurse, as well as in hospitals and long-term care facilities. She also worked as an insurance review nurse. 

Prior to coming to Coville, she was working on the JSL West Bloomfield campus as a weekend nursing supervisor and was also serving as a CNA instructor at Career Advancement in Healthcare Institute.

Attributing her success to her compassion for people and wanting to help them make the best decision for their health, Fran loves working with seniors and finds it very rewarding.

Currently, she holds a certification in CPR, an emergency procedure that combines chest compressions often with artificial ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is on the front line of nursing, interacting directly with patients on a daily basis. They work under the supervision of doctors and RNs, performing duties such as taking vital signs, collecting lab specimens, administering medication, ensuring patient comfort, performing skills like trach care, foley care, ostomy care, wound care, G- tube care I.V. care, and reporting the status of their patients to their case managers.

LPNs are generally hired in settings such as doctors' offices, hospitals, nursing homes, home health environments, and rehabilitation centers. They must be skilled in balancing care for patients, performing skilled tasks, and completing practical daily administrative duties.

Outside of work, Fran enjoys reading, playing games on the computer, swimming, traveling, and spending time with her family.
