Cornish Holiday Experts Become Ambassadors for England’s Coast

Team members from Duchy Holidays, a holiday letting agency in Cornwall, will help promote the country's coastal region's to overseas travellers as the latest ambassadors for England's Coast.

Holiday representatives from a Cornish company have been awarded ambassador status for the England’s Coast tourism initiative.

Several members of the Duchy Holidays team, based in Perranporth in Cornwall, have become ambassadors of the scheme to help improve the experience of international visitors to the English coast.

The Duchy Holidays representatives underwent online training to help them welcome overseas visitors to their local area.

The staff members brushed up on their knowledge of the South West and received tips on understanding the needs of travellers from abroad to ensure they have a great holiday and recommend the English coast to other potential visitors on their return home.

The England’s Coast tourism scheme was devised to raise awareness of the quality and variety of the English coastline and make it easy for international visitors to book a holiday. Designed specifically for international visitors, the scheme’s website focuses on six key coastal regions and is translated into German, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian.

Michelle Robertson, owner and manager at Duchy Holidays in Perranporth, said: “We’re already well known for our local expertise but it’s great to get some outside support from such a prestigious organisation.

“It’s a wonderful achievement for our agents and the accreditation is further assurance of the quality service we provide to our guests.”

Duchy Holidays welcomes thousands of people each year to the Perranporth area for self-catering holidays on the Cornish coast. A majority of its visitors are from the United Kingdom, with a growing number of visitors making the trip over from Europe and the USA.

Michelle Robertson continued: “As Cornwall is becoming increasingly popular with overseas visitors, it is really useful to discover specific ways we can help promote our area to people who may know very little about the region and may not speak a lot of English.
